Leon Edwards (21-3-0, 1NC) is still the undisputed UFC welterweight champion of the world after defeating Kamaru Usman (20-3-0) via unanimous decision at The O2 Arena in London on Saturday.
The main event of UFC 286 did not disappoint. It was a close fight heading into the championship rounds, with Edwards getting a couple points docked for some dirty hits.
This is the third installment between Edwards and Usman, with the score tied at one heading into the trilogy bout.
Edwards, 31, didn’t land as many head strikes or body blows as Usman, but controlled the fight with explosive kicks.
Usman, 35, was humble in defeat, showing respect for the champion during his postfight interview.

Colby Covington was present at UFC 286 and yelled at Edwards to give him a shot at the belt.
Edwards did not give Covington the time of day, saying he wanted to give somebody else an opportunity.

Islam Makhachev took to Twitter shortly after the fight to say he wants to face Edwards in Abu Dhabi.
“I want Leon [Edwards] next, October in Abu Dhabi,” Makhachev tweeted.
